چکیده

The topographic threshold is based on the power relationship between area and slope widely applied in gully-erosion research; however, this requires further testing. Accordingly, Alamarvdasht Lamerd Fadagh Larestan regions Fars Province, Iran, were selected as case studies to explore for gullies. Thirty active gullies identified each study during field surveys, data describing land use cover, drainage areas, slope, physical chemical properties of soils assembled. Multivariate analysis was conducted using SPSS determine effects these factors. Using catchment gully, analyses explored critical controls gully development. results showed that surface runoff most significant effective factor areas. Sparse ground fine-textured soils, inappropriate contribute suggest S = 0.0192 A−0.159 headcut areas 0.0181 A−0.258 at outlets. corresponding values exponent β headcuts outlets − 0.15, −0.25, respectively. relationships 0.0143 A− 0.061 0.0073 A−0. 18, respectively, with 0.06 0.18. This provides a basis determining thresholds initiating Analyses factors provide clues improve management bare lands prevent initiation erosion.

Gully Erosion after Wildfire

Predicting runoff and erosion from watersheds burned by wildfires requires an understanding of the spatial structure of both hillslope and channel drainage networks. We investigate the small-scale and large-scale structures of drainage networks using field studies and computer analysis of 30-m digital elevation model. Topologic variables were derived from a composite 30-m DEM, which included 14...

Determine the location of Gully erosion occurred based on the ‎Geomorphology threshold and factors affecting it (case study: ‎Cham-e- Zhab of Darrehshahr‏ ‏‎, Ilam)‎

Gully erosion is the most important water erosion which causes land degradation and imbalance in lands. Land degradation, broken ecological balance of landscapes and sensitive condition of biological resources are among reasons of gully erosion study. This study performed with the goal of determining the topographical threshold of gully erosion and expansion and also predicting sensitive areas ...

a study on the topographic threshold and effective factors on sediment production and gully development in neyriz, fars province

gully erosion has an important role in fars province due to sediment production and enormous damages to land, roads and infrastructures. in this research, 15 gullies were selected to measure their morphometric characteristics. the length, depth, top and bottom width and volume of gully erosion were then measured. influential factors on the sediment production and gully development were analyzed...

Effects of topography on gully formation in Ilam Province

Gully erosion is one of the important forms of soil degradation especially in semi-arid areas. Gullies are occupying 13 percent of Ilam Province area. This research focused on studying the, topographic threshold of gullies, dominant process of gully initiation and development as well, in agricultural and rangeland land uses. Ilam province with 2 million hac area is located in western Iran. Ilam...
